Steel Beam Theatre is a modest professional theatre company providing quality entertainment to Chicago’s western suburbs and the greater Fox Valley area out of its quaint St. Charles home. On Saturday, November 25, the Steel Beam Theatre Board of Directors will be welcoming the public to an Open House that doubles as a Light Parade Viewing Party.
The company has a reputation for delivering excellent quality comedies, dramas, and musicals. The theater has served as a stepping stone for many of Chicago’s top actors who have gone on to great success in equity and non-equity high-profile productions in the city.
On Saturday, November 25th the theater will be open to the public from 3 PM to 9 PM. There will be lively entertainment performances on the hour and half hour throughout the day. Representatives of the Board of Directors will be making appearances to talk about the upcoming season and how to get involved in the theater. Opportunities exist for onstage or backstage talent, as well as for financial sponsors.
The Light Parade Viewing Party and Steel Beam Theatre Open House takes place at 111 W. Main Street in St. Charles. There is ample public parking in the immediate area including a municipal lot steps away from the theater.
In addition to providing exciting live entertainment and a warm place from which to watch the city’s Light Parade, the open house will feature tasty seasonal treats including hot cider, hot chocolate, coffee, popcorn, and cookies.
Steel Beam Theatre has been providing top-shelf entertainment to the western suburbs of Chicago for over 20 years. The theater administration includes renowned artistic director Marge Uhlarik-Boller and managing director Catie Early. Both creatives have storied careers in the arts, including affiliations with Paramount Theatre in Aurora.
The Steel Beam Board of Directors includes Paul Anderson, Larry Boller, Faun Cooper, Vicki Michalski, Amy Jackson, Bob Krez, Stew Liechti, Ben Slabik, Rikki Lee Travolta, and Bernie Weiler. Combined, the board has decades of experience in bringing St. Charles and the suburbs of Chicago heartwarming, exciting, and stimulating entertainment including mainstage productions and award-worthy Children’s programming and classes.
The current Steel Beam season includes “Absurd Person Singular” (Nov. 30 – Dec. 23), “The Cake” (Jan. 19 – Feb 11), and “Steel Magnolias” (April 19 – May 12).
Also known as “The Electric Christmas Parade”, the St. Charles Light Parade goes into full swing at 5:30 PM on November 25, with over 60 parade floats and lighted vehicles traveling along Main Street. Steel Beam Theatre’s second-story perch makes an ideal venue for experiencing the parade and the wonders of the season.
