Singer, Songwriter, and Broadway Baby Susannah B Talks Upcoming Album on Radio’s ‘It’s Showtime with Rikki Lee’

Pop, rock, and jazz recording artist Susannah B is the focus of the Friday, April 28 episode of radio’s It Showtime with Rikki Lee out of Chicago. Also available as a podcast on all major platforms, It’s Showtime with Rikki Lee is a half hour weekly interview program centered on the entertainment industry including stage, film, television, music, and literature.

A celebrated vocalist and songwriter, Susannah B comes by her musical talents naturally. She is the daughter of Broadway composer and lyricist Carol Hall whose credits include The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Free To Be You & Me.

Susannah B is currently preparing the new album POV, which is produced in partnership with keyboardist Mike Farrell who also works closely with Alanis Morrisette whose album Jagged Little Pill was adapted into a Broadway smash musical. The Susannah B POV album also features the talents of drummer Victor Indrizzo, bass player Sean Hurley, and guitarist Dave Levita. Guest artists on POV include saxophonist Sal Lozano, known for work with Lady Gaga and Frank Sinatra.

As a singer/songwriter, Susannah B has had multiple hit albums in a variety of genres. Her album Girl Gone Wilder! was named Top Jazz Recording of 2020 by LA Jazz Scene. The album is a celebration of the music of legendary composer Alec Wilder who was known for writing songs for Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney, and Miles Davis.

The upcoming POV album includes modernized reworkings of some of Susannah B’s past songs, as well as new material and a few playful cover songs. Described as a cross between Sheryl Crow and Sade, the album was recorded at the Village Recorder, in the same studio that Fleetwood Mac recorded Rumors.

It’s Showtime with Rikki Lee airs every Friday at 3 PM CST out of Chicago’s Huntley community on 101.5 FM WHRU and streaming at It is available as a podcast on all major platforms including Spotify, iHeartRadio, Apple, Amazon, and Google.
