Steven Adler Brings Appetite for Destruction Back to the Sunset Strip

Thirty-five years ago, Guns N’ Roses ignited a rock n’ roll revolution with the release of the multi-platinum album Appetite for Destruction. Featuring Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer Steven Adler guiding the way on the drums, GNR redefined the hard rock genre.

For years bands like Guns N’ Roses thrilled audiences at clubs like the legendary Whisky a Go Go -considered one of the most iconic venues on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. Mötley Crüe, Poison, and Van Halen all graduated from the famous club, but it was Guns N’ Roses that took hard rock and twisted it into something breathtakingly new.

Guns N’ Roses went on to become one of the most influential bands of all time. Now to mark the 35-year anniversary of Appetite for Destruction, on Saturday, September 17, founding drummer Steven Adler will be returning to the Whisky for a concert that promises to live up to GNR’s reputation.

“In some ways you could say the Whisky is where it all started,” says Adler. “The passion, the angst, the drive that makes Guns N’ Roses music so thrilling – that was influenced by our time on the Sunset Strip.”

How vital was the Whisky a Go Go to the music scene? It was the first music venue to ever be inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

Since his original days in West Hollywood, Adler has gone on to huge success in the music industry. As a member of Guns N’ Roses he toured the world, playing to crowds of hundreds of thousands of wild fans. He has since recorded and played shows with a who’s who in hard rock.

Adler is proudly endorsed by Drum Workshop Inc. (DW Drums), Soultone Cymbals, and Vater Drumsticks. He was inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame with the rest of GNR in 2012. And, he authored the New York Times Bestseller My Appetite for Destruction: Sex & Drugs & Guns N’ Roses.

Adler’s return to the Whisky on September 17th finds him in the company of a band of exceptional musicians including mesmerizing lead guitarist Michael Thomas, brilliant rhythm guitarist Alistair James, and thrilling lead singer Ari Kamin.

“These guys are my rock n’ roll army. I wouldn’t trade a single one. They are some of the best musicians you’ll ever see. I love taking the stage with these guys,” states Adler.

The set list is expected to include all the hits from Appetite for Destruction including Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child O’ Mine, Paradise City, My Michelle, Mr. Brownstone, and Rocket Queen.

“If you join me at the Whisky, you’ll hear all your favorites. It’s going to be an epic event that you don’t want to miss,” promised Adler.

Joining Steven Adler on the bill are opening acts The Original Striker, DRQLA, Hipnostic, Ten Cent Revenge, American Jetset, and Burning the Fields. Doors open at 6 PM.
