Normally, when I write about politics, I get strong approval ratings from Democrats, Independents, and traditional Republicans. It is the Trump cult followers that disagree with the facts that are presented, since they don’t deal in facts. They deal in Trump lies and QAnon conspiracy theories.

It is traditional Republicans I am most trying to reach today, because it appears that some of them are falling victim to lies coming from Republicans in Congress like Sen. Josh Hawley, Sen. Ted Cruz, Rep. Jim Jordan, Rep. Andy Biggs, Rep. Paul Gosar, Rep. Matt Gaetz, and Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

In a recent poll, nearly three quarters of Republicans are not confident about the integrity of the 2020 election. This is not necessarily because of Donald Trump’s Big Lie that his loss was somehow illegitimate. It’s because of the alarming number of Republicans in Congress who are going along with the lie.

The majority of Americans recognize President Joe Biden’s dramatic 2020 win by over 7 million votes as the result of a safe and secure election. In fact, Donald Trump’s own Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) called the election the most secure in the history of the United States.

During his time in office, Trump told over 30,000 lies, as verified by the Washington Post. After four years of being gaslighted by this reality show blowhard , Democrats, Independents, and even a large percentage of Republicans wanted Trump out of office. The polls leading up to the election foretold this, and the election results confirmed it.

Trump and his enablers knew he was going to lose the 2020 election badly. I don’t know if they realized he would lose as badly as he did, but everyone knew he was going to lose.

So, Trump did what Trump always does. He lied. He made up stories of epic voter fraud with absolutely no basis in truth. Even Trump’s handpicked Attorney General Bill Barr released a statement that there was no widespread election fraud. But truth isn’t something Trump understands. He lives in a “fake news” world in which he only listens to enablers who tell him what he wants to hear rather than the truth.

One man lying doesn’t make much of a dent in the public perception of reality, but when dozens of elected officials start backing that lie, even though they themselves know it is untrue, that is when it is a recipe for disaster. In fact, that’s what we are seeing now.

If Donald Trump didn’t lose the 2020 election by over 7 million votes, where is the proof? There have been numerous recounts, all of which demonstrate that President Joe Biden actually won the 2020 election by a greater margin than originally thought.

Furthermore, all of Trump’s court challenges to the election were thrown out because they provided only conspiracy theories and no facts. That’s because the facts show Joe Biden won the 2020 election by one of the largest margins in history. Traditional Republicans recognized that Trump is a cancer and voted for Biden. Now those traditional Republicans need to stay vigilant in the face of lies coming from the leadership in the Republican party. The truth matters.

If you were to listen to braggarts like McCarthy and Gosar, the country is in shambles. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The truth is that President Biden has presided over the rebounding of the economy that Trump tanked. The economy under President Biden is at a record level.

The truth is that under President Biden we have the lowest unemployment rate in our history. Biden added six million jobs in 2021, the most for any first year President.

The truth is that after Trump failed to act in response to the COVID pandemic, Biden rolled out a national vaccination plan that makes vaccination free and easily accessible. We’ve seen 70 percent of Americans protect themselves from the virus so far. It is only sad that there are still Trump cult members out there who would rather die than admit Trump’s lies about COVID being harmless.

President Biden is doing the job that over 81 million Americans voted for him to do. Under his leadership our country is on the rebound, and things will continue to get better.

Don’t fall for the lies of Trump, Jordan, and McCarthy. Celebrate the fact that we, as a country, elected a great leader in President Biden. Our country will continue to get better, all thanks to Biden.

In the midterm elections this year, we need to support members of Congress who are committed to the truth, not the lies of failed dictator Donald Trump. We need to ensure a Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate. That requires the cooperative effort of the 81 million voters who turned out in 2020 to support the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris plan for America.
