“If I Lose, the Election is Rigged” – and Other Tall Tales from the Desk of Donald Trump

I find it incredibly sad that 30% of Americans are so brainwashed by right-wing propaganda that they simply won’t believe any of the negative facts about Donald Trump.

To these people, the CIA, FBI, Office of Homeland Security, award-winning investigative journalists, decorated military strategists, respected scientists, revered civic leaders, and highly educated doctors are all conspiring against Donald Trump. They are all liars and Trump is the one and only beacon of truth. If the information about their false idol isn’t 100% glowing, it’s “fake news.”

That’s nearly 1/3 of the population that has been bamboozled by a narcissistic, sociopathic con man and would be fascist. They’ve seen the evidence and they refuse to accept it.

Most people have seen the footage of Clorox-gate when Trump advised people to inject themselves with kitchen disinfectant as a means of battling COVID. You can still find it on YouTube. Trump followers claim it never happened.

How brainwashed do you have to be to not believe what you’ve seen with your own eyes?

Or what about the Stormy Daniels affair? First, he said he’d never met her. Then he said he did know her, but he didn’t know about any hush money payments. Then he said that he did know about the payments but that he didn’t make them, his lawyer did with his own money. Then he admitted that he paid his attorney back but claims he doesn’t know for what.

With every change in his story, the Trump sheep adjust their perception of reality to coincide. In the case of the ever-changing Stormy Daniels saga, his followers finally resolved at a belief that his extra marital affairs, coverups, and lies are “a family matter” and that his privacy should be respected. I don’t remember that being the case when another U.S. President was impeached for getting a blowjob.

What about the January 6 Trump Insurrection? It unfolded on live television. We all watched as Trump’s army of domestic terrorists descended on the Capitol, erected gallows, attacked the police, and took control of the halls of Congress. First the Trump sheep claimed it was Antifa. Then they said that any Trump supporters who were there behaved like typical tourists who hugged and kissed the police. Finally, they say the criminals who attacked the Capitol were freedom fighters and patriots.

Now, Trump says that those arrested for their part in the insurrection are “political prisoners.” Isn’t that the same as admitting they were involved in trying to overthrow the government?

It’s impossible to make sense of Trump’s ever-changing lies. They rarely make sense at the time he says them, and make even less sense when compared to each other. He is an imbecile. But what does that say about those who drink his Kool-Aid and believe all his lies no matter how much they contradict reality?

Just as important, what does it also say about the Trump supporters who aren’t delusional? What about the ones that know he’s a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, a rapist, and a traitor and voted for him anyway? 74 million people voted for Donald Trump in 2020. That means there are 74 million people in America who are okay with racism, who are okay with rape, who are okay with colluding with a hostile foreign enemy. Let that sink in.

Peace. Love. Trust.
