Top Ten Most Beautiful Women in History

Every woman is beautiful in her own way, just as each person has their own considerations as to what they find beautiful in woman. I like to think that I am open to beauty in all forms. To that end, here is my tabulation of the world’s Top Ten most beautiful women in history.

10) Katarina Witt – Hailing from Germany, figure skater Katarina Witt won two Olympic gold medals for East Germany. She is a four-time World Champion and two-time World Silver Medalist. Her physical beauty was accentuated on the ice through her fluid movement. She posed naked in Playboy magazine at age 32 after retiring from competitive skating.  It was the second ever sold out issue of the magazine (the first being the premier issue featuring Marilyn Monroe).

9) Chase Masterson – Like many beauties, Chase Masterson got her start on a soap opera, appearing as Ivy Lief on General Hospital. This led to a series regular role on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Masterson was named on the world’s “50 Sexiest Women” by Femme Fetales in 2004. Also in 2004, Masterson was named “Favorite Science Fiction Actress” in a poll by TV Guide. In 2009 AOL named her one of the “Ten Sexiest Aliens on TV.”

Rosario Dawson

8) Rosario Dawson – After making her film debut in the edgy drama Kids in 1995, Rosario Dawson’s vast resume has included roles in He Got Game, Josie and the Pussycats, Men in Black II, Rent, Sin City, Clerks II, and Unstoppable. For her role in Rent she won the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress. In addition to her onscreen roles, she also is the voice of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the D.C. Animated Movie Universe.


7) Ann-Margret – An onscreen and offscreen lover of Elvis Presley, Ann-Margret oozes sexuality. Her well known films include Bye Bye Birdie, Viva Las Vegas, Tommy, and Grumpy Old Men. She has won five Golden Globe Awards, and has been nominated for two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and six Emmy Awards. Notably she played Blanche DuBois in a 1984 television movie of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, for which she won one of her Golden Globes. She can be seen in the 2020 season of Netflix’s Happy.

Halle Berry

6) Halle Berry – A former first runner up in the Miss USA pageant, Halle Berry landed her breakthrough acting job in Boomerang opposite Eddie Murphy in 1992. Other films include The Flintstones, X-Men, Swordfish, Catwoman, and Gothika. She also played opposite Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond in Die Another Day. In 2001 she became the first woman of African American descent to win an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Monster’s Ball.

Salma Hayek

5) Salma Hayek – After early success as an actress in her native Mexico, Salma Hayek moved to Hollywood in the early 1990s and landed choice roles in Desperado, From Dusk till Dawn, Wild Wild West, and Dogma. She earned an Academy Award nomination for playing the title role in Frida, about Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. She won a Daytime Emmy Award for The Maldonado Miracle, which she produced and directed. In 2019 she announced that she will star as Ajak in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film The Eternals.

Elizabeth Taylor

4) Elizabeth Taylor –  After appearing as a child actress in the 1940s, it was as a young woman in the 1950s that Taylor was at her peak. Her early roles included National Velvet, Father of the Bride, and A Place in the Sun. In the mid-50s she starred in adaptations of two Tennessee Williams scripts Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (opposite Paul Newman) and Suddenly Last Summer. After winning an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Butterfield 8, she received the record-breaking salary of $1 Million to play the title role in Cleopatra. In her later years she worked as an advocate for HIV/AIDS research.

Morgan Fairchild

3) Morgan Fairchild – With her perfectly pointed nose, high cheekbones, and lusty bedroom eyes, Morgan Fairchild gained fame in the daytime soap opera Search for Tomorrow and prime time soap Dallas before taking the lead role in the prime time series Flamingo Road for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. She has guest starred on such series as Friends, Two and a Half Men, Law and Order: SVU, That 70’s Show, Murphy Brown, Hot in Cleveland, and Murder She Wrote to name just a few. She also starred in the national theatrical tour of The Graduate.

2) Marilyn Monroe – The woman who defined the term “Blond Bombshell”, Marilyn Monroe was one of the world’s most famous sex symbols in the 1950s and early 1960s. After early work as a pin up girl, Monroe worked the studio system at 20th Century Fox and Columbia pictures. Her notable films included Niagara, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Seven Year Itch, Bus Stop, and Some Like it Hot. Her status as every man’s fantasy solidified when she was the centerfold for the debut issue of Playboy magazine.

Jessica Lange

1) Jessica Lange – I grew up mesmerized by the beauty of Jessica Lange in such films as Tootsie, Sweet Dreams, Everybody’s All American, and Men Don’t Leave. She has an approachable beauty. You wouldn’t get tongue tied in meeting her, but you also wouldn’t be able to dismiss her ethereal beauty. She made her film debut as the ingenue in 1976 remake of King Kong and never looked back. Her beauty has graced the Broadway stage, television airwaves, and the silver screen. She has won two Academy Awards, three Prime Time Emmy Awards, one Tony Award, one Screen Actors Guild Award, and five Golden Globe Awards.
